On remarquera les absences totales ou relatives, d’Elton John, du rap, du hard rock (à part ACDC), du raggae, du funk, de la disco, de la techno, de la world music que je préfère d’ailleurs à tout ça (Buenavista…). Je ne cherche pas à m’en excuser. Je ne cite pas Genesis et Peter Gabriel ou Pattie Smith, parce que je ne connais pas assez mais je suis sûr que je les ferai entrer un de ces jours. Je ne connais pas Oasis ou REM donc je ne les cite pas pour l’instant. De même j’ai complètement zappé un certain nombre de groupes comme Jefferson Airplane (à part Somebody to love) ou Mothers of invention. Je ne connais pas assez lJohn Mayall ou les Pretthy Thing, , Family, Et si je citais Kim Wilde ou Blondie ce serait pour d’autres raisons que pour leur musique…
